The major virtual event will focus on the biggest issues affecting the water sector, from COVID-19 to progress towards reaching the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). IWA Executive Director Kala Vairavamoorthy comments: "I am delighted to announce that the Digital World Water Congress is now open to registrations from across the water sector. The congress promises to be one of the most significant events on the industry calendar, with an array of learning, networking and social opportunities. IWA is committed to providing opportunities and spaces for discussion and learning to our sector in these challenging times. The Digital World Water Congress will provide high-quality opportunities for discussion, innovation and engagement to all water professionals." The Digital World Water Congress represents one of the biggest online events for water professionals covering the full water cycle. It includes 32 hours of content and activity, spans across eight days and covers multiple time zones to accommodate a global audience. The event consists of plenary sessions with keynote speakers, technical presentations from industry experts, smart-networking and social opportunities accessible through a dedicated platform. There will also be a poster hall, with presentations and Q&As available from each author. IWA decided to develop the online event, due to the postponement of IWA’s World Water Congress until September 2022 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. More details will be announced in the near future around the World Water Congress, which is still being held in Copenhagen, Denmark. |
